Good Morning!  Today is a White Day. 


Reminder:  BAM permission slips and activity fee payments are now overdue.  Please submit them as soon as possible.

6th Grade Honors Chorus:  practice today after school from 2:45 - 3:45 in the chorus room.


Jazz Ensemble:  Will meet today after school in the band room from 2:45 - 4:00 p.m. 


All Wind Ensemble students will be rehearsing after school on Thursday this week on the PAC stage. Please arrive back to the middle school at 6:45 in concert dress clothes. The concert begins at 7 p.m.!


Kaleidoscope Club:  2:45 – 4:00 p.m. in Mrs. Slote’s room.


6th Grade Math Team:  Will meet tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. in Mrs. Urban’s


PAWSitive Club:  Will meet this Thursday after school from 2:45 - 4:00 p.m.   Please meet in Mrs. Jacob's art room. 


GT Art Students:  Attention GT Art and Social Studies Students, if you are attending the field trip on Thursday to the Maine Historical Society, please meet outside the main office at 9:05 a.m. sharp.  Also, please remember to bring your sketch books!!


This Friday our Fuel Up to Play student leaders and the cafeteria staff will be serving Superbowl smoothies at breakfast! Stop by and get fueled up and ready for the Superbowl while enjoying a healthy breakfast! Also, we want to encourage you to wear Patriots or football gear to school Friday to get excited for the big game. Go Pats!


Engineering Expo:  WMS is providing transportation to the annual Engineering Expo at the University of Maine at Orono on Saturday, February 24th for students who are interested. The Expo is a hands-on interactive event that exposes students to various engineering fields. Packets with a flier and permission form can be picked up in the office. Please see Mr. Moulen if you have any questions.


Northern Star Recipients:  Rileah Daly, Faith Beaulieu, Ali Jalil, Dalila Dow.  And the winner is Rileah Daly.  Congratulations to all!


PTO Fundraiser:  Our PTO is heading up a Dunkin Donut card fundraiser.  Purchase a card (and a cozy) for $20 and you can get an iced or hot coffee every Sunday in 2018.  The card is good in Maine and Carrol and Coos Counties in NH only. You can pick one up here in the Main office.


8th Grade Parent/Student Night at the High School. Mark this day: Thursday, February 8th, at 6:00 p.m in the Westbrook High School Auditorium. You will learn about the course registration process and meet the Grade 9 team teachers and the support staff that will be here to assist you. This is your chance to ask questions about your next 4 years of school.


Winter Kids Program: Winter kids is in its 20th year of providing Maine students in grades 5-7 with the means to participate and enjoy all that a Maine winter has to offer.  Click this link or apply online at

Laptop News:  If you were not able to attend the MLTI meeting and you are a parent of a 7th grade student who has not attended a previous meeting, a video has been posted on the WMS website ( that you will be required to watch.  After watching the video, please call the main office at 854-0830 to speak with Principal Wood regarding the video.

Winter II seasons officially start next Monday, 2/5. If you have not yet signed up electronically for 1 of the 3 offerings (Swimming, Wrestling, Indoor Track), please do so by the end of this week. We will need to make sure you have submitted all your paperwork and have an updated physical on record.


Students wishing to participate in sports MUST complete the Athletic Participation Form and must have written proof of a physical within the last 2 years.  Any student without proof of a recent physical will not be allowed to participate until this is received. If you have any questions, please contact Melissa Foye at


Listen for future announcements from coaches as to when you will be meeting and beginning your actual seasons. Team pictures are being scheduled for next week!!
