This Friday our Fuel Up to Play student leaders and the cafeteria staff will be serving Super Bowl smoothies at breakfast! Stop by and get fueled up and ready for the Super Bowl while enjoying a healthy breakfast! Also, we want to encourage you to wear Patriots or football gear to school Friday to get excited for the big game. Go Pats!
Fuel Up to Play 60 will host a capture the football tournament after school on Tuesday, February 6. You must be signed up online at www.fueluptoplay60.com in order to attend. Be sure to wear sneakers and arrange for a ride to pick you up at 4:00 or plan to take the late bus.
Engineering Expo: WMS is providing transportation to the annual Engineering Expo at the University of Maine at Orono on Saturday, February 24th for students who are interested. The Expo is a hands-on interactive event that exposes students to various engineering fields. Packets with a flier and permission form can be picked up in the office. Please see Mr. Moulen if you have any questions.

PTO Fundraiser: Our PTO is heading up a Dunkin Donut card fundraiser. Purchase a card (and a cozy) for $20 and you can get an iced or hot coffee every Sunday in 2018. The card is good in Maine and Carrol and Coos Counties in NH only. You can pick one up here in the Main office.
8th Grade Parent/Student Night at the High School. Mark this day: Thursday, February 8th, at 6:00 p.m in the Westbrook High School Auditorium. You will learn about the course registration process and meet the Grade 9 team teachers and the support staff that will be here to assist you. This is your chance to ask questions about your next 4 years of school.

Laptop News: If you were not able to attend the MLTI meeting and you are a parent of a 7th grade student who has not attended a previous meeting, a video has been posted on the WMS website (westbrookschools.org) that you will be required to watch. After watching the video, please call the main office at 854-0830 to speak with Principal Wood regarding the video.
Cheering: 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. in the gym
Swimming: There is a mandatory swim meeting on Tuesday February 6th. The meeting will be held in Mrs. Goan’s art room. Please come down when walkers are dismissed. You must be at the meeting if you plan on swimming this season. We will be done with the meeting in time for you to take the late bus. All other swimmers should be picked up here at W.M.S. by 4:30. Please see Mrs. Goan with any questions that you may have.
Winter II seasons officially start next Monday, 2/5. If you have not yet signed up electronically for 1 of the 3 offerings (Swimming, Wrestling, Indoor Track), please do so by the end of this week. We will need to make sure you have submitted all your paperwork and have an updated physical on record.
Students wishing to participate in sports MUST complete the Athletic Participation Form and must have written proof of a physical within the last 2 years. Any student without proof of a recent physical will not be allowed to participate until this is received. If you have any questions, please contact Melissa Foye at firstname.lastname@example.org.
