Shrek: Shrek open rehearsal is next Monday, February 12th, from 5:00-7:00.
Engineering Expo: WMS is providing transportation to the annual Engineering Expo at the University of Maine at Orono on Saturday, February 24th for students who are interested. The Expo is a hands-on interactive event that exposes students to various engineering fields. Packets with a flier and permission form can be picked up in the office. PTO Fundraiser: Our PTO is heading up a Dunkin Donut card fundraiser. Purchase a card (and a cozy) for $20 and you can get an iced or hot coffee every Sunday in 2018. The card is good in Maine and Carrol and Coos Counties in NH only. You can pick one up here in the Main office.
8th Grade Parent/Student Night at the High School. Mark this day: Thursday, February 8th, at 6:00 p.m in the Westbrook High School Auditorium. You will learn about the course registration process and meet the Grade 9 team teachers and the support staff that will be here to assist you. This is your chance to ask questions about your next 4 years of school.

Laptop News: If you were not able to attend the MLTI meeting and you are a parent of a 7th grade student who has not attended a previous meeting, a video has been posted on the WMS website (westbrookschools.org) that you will be required to watch. After watching the video, please call the main office at 854-0830 to speak with Principal Wood regarding the video.
Indoor Track: Running will begin on Thursday.
Swimming:There was an informational swim meeting 2/6 in Mrs. Goan’s art room for all students that were interested in joining the swim team. If a student did not go to that meeting and is interested in joining the swim team they need to see Mrs. Goan before the end of this week.Swim will officially start on Monday 2/12 at the community center. A bus will transport the swimmers from the middle school to the community center daily. Parents are responsible for picking up their child at the community center by 4:15.The only exception to this rule is for next week. Next week we will be transported over to the community center and the swimmers will do dry land from 3:00-4:00. At 4:00 we will change and get into the pool to swim until 5:00. Swimmers should be picked up no later than 5:15.There is an important parent meeting on Thursday 2/ 15 at 5:15 in the bleachers at the Community Center. All parents are encouraged to attend. Wrestling: Any student interested in wrestling this year should plan on attending an organizational meeting tomorrow after school in Mr. Makin's room. If you haven’t signed up electronically, please see Mrs. Foye in her office (A121). The meeting on Thursday will last until about 3:30. Students may be picked up at that time or can wait until late bus.
Practice will start on Friday and will be over at 4:00 p.m. Wrestlers will be able to take the late bus or arrange for a ride home.
Students wishing to participate in sports MUST complete the Athletic Participation Form and must have written proof of a physical within the last 2 years.
