Spring Picture Day is today! Students do not need to bring in any money today. Students will get their pictures back in April, and they will be sent home for you to look at. If you choose to keep some or all of the pictures, you will send in the appropriate payment at that time. If you do not wish to purchase pictures, please send them back to the school for collection.
Big Brothers/Big Sisters will meet today after school in the library
Today the WMS Wind Ensemble will attend the Concert Band Festival at Scarborough HS. Students will be departing at 12:15 p.m. and will be performing at 1:30 p.m. Students should be returning to WMS no later than 3 p.m.
The 6th Grade Band and Chorus concert is tonight at 7 p.m. in the PAC. Band students should arrive at 6:45 p.m. Chorus students should arrive by 6:30 p.m.
7th Grade Math Team: Will meet tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. in Mrs. Urban's room
Leadership Club: Will meet tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. in Mr. Moulen's room.
Kaleidoscope Club: Will meet tomorrow after school in Mrs. Slote's room
Fuel Up to play 60 will be hosting a dodge ball tournament after school this Friday. You must sign up online in order to attend. Come dressed and ready to have some fun with us! Please be ready to take the late bus home or arrange for a ride at 4:00. We hope staff will play with us, too! It will be a fun way to get your 60 minutes of daily physical activity!
5th Grade Fun Night: Come on down 5th graders! It’s time for 5th grade Fun Night! The date is this Friday. The time is 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Cost for entry is $4.00 - $3.00 with a Falcon Card
Student Council Food Drive: The food drive continues this week. Items will be donated to the Community Center to benefit people in need in our community. Thank you to all who contribute!
Yearbook Club: Will meet directly after school on Tuesday, April 3rd, in Mrs. Beckwith's room
A reminder to all GT art students: Your next GT Art meeting will be held during lunch in the library on Tuesday, April 10th. Please bring all of your project work to this meeting.
Band and Chorus News: It’s a busy month in the band and chorus realm. Make note of the following dates in case you want to attend one of these wonderful concerts!:
5th Grade Band News: Beginning the week of March 26: Sectional classes begin again. Trumpets on Monday, Clarinets and Saxophones on Wednesday, Percussion, Flute and Trombone on Fridays.
Our next full band classes will be on the following dates: Monday, April 30th, Monday, May 7th, and Monday May 14th. Please mark your calendars!
Our final concert of the year will be All City Band at the WHS gymnasium on Tuesday, May 15th @ 7 p.m. Please note the location!
We will also have two parades (music to be memorized): Memorial Day (May 28) and Together Days (June 2).
April 4- 8th Grade Band and WHS Bands Spring Concert. 8th Graders will perform at 7 p.m. and are expected to stay for the remainder of the concert. More information to follow via email.

Laptop News: If you were not able to attend the MLTI meeting and you are a parent of a 7th grade student who has not attended aprevious meeting, a video has been posted on the WMS website (westbrookschools.org) that you will be required to watch. After watching the video, please call the main office at 854-0830 to speak with Principal Wood regarding the video.

Swimming: 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. practice @ Davan Pool, then Pizza Party from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. @ the Community Center
Spring sports start soon! Please keep checking this site for updates on meeting times and try-out schedules. All students wishing to participate in a spring sport should check their email and fill out the form to sign up. All students must have doctor’s proof of a recent physical (within the last 2 years) and turn in completed athletic paperwork. Any student who has NOT participated in a sport this school year must click on this link WMS Athletic Participation Forms & have these forms filled out and signed by a parent or guardian. We offer the following spring sports:
Girls & Boys Outdoor Track – Open to grades 6.7 & 8
Girls & Boys Lacrosse – Open to grades 7 & 8 only
Girls Softball – Open to grades 7 & 8 only
