Nature Club: If you are interested in the outdoors and want to make the world more beautiful, join Nature Club! We will meet Tuesdays after school in Mrs. Freund's Room 116 for the remainder of the school year. This is for 5th and 6th graders. Come get your permission slip in the main office. The first meeting is tomorrow, May 8.
Student Council: Will meet today after school in Mrs. Boynton's room.
Student Council will be sponsoring a Penny Drive starting on Monday. The money that we raise as a school will be given to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Your teacher will talk about what this is. The class who raises the most money will win an Olive Garden Lunch! Any questions please talk to Mrs. Boynton.
Attention all 8th grade students: The high school marching band and color guard sign ups have begun! Please see Mrs. Smith if you would like to take a look at our calendar of rehearsals and performances. Contracts will be due by the end of the school year if you would like a spot in the show.
Spring Pictures: Spring pictures have been given out. Please bring them home to your parents and keep any pictures (either individually or the entire package) that you want and return the remaining pictures along with payment. If you do not want any of the pictures, just return the entire intact package as soon as possible. Lifetouch will be following up on un-returned pictures that haven't been paid for. Thank you!
Chorus News: Our 7th Grade Chorus students will be performing the musical Shrek Jr.on Tuesday, May 8th, at 6:00 p.m. Here are the remaining rehearsal times: May 7th Morning set up with All kids - Show at 12:15 p.m.; May 8th - SHREK Jr. Students stay after school until show at 6:00 p.m - We will be asking parents to help with pot luck dinner.
All-City Chorus: The All-City Chorus concert is Monday, May 14th, at 7:00 p.m. in the WMS PAC.
Northern Stars: Gavin Blanchard, Tyler Hogan, Brady Harvie, Nathan Huynh, Giovani Locey, David Mbuyanba, Rosie Le, Jemima Kabangu, Hayden Tracy, Autumn Wellington. And the winner of the drawing is Jemima Kabangu. Congratulations to all!
Band News: Our final concert of the year will be All City Band at the WHS gymnasium on Tuesday, May 15th @ 7 p.m. Please note the location! We will also have two parades (music to be memorized): Memorial Day (May 28) and Together Days (June 2).

Laptop News: If you were not able to attend the MLTI meeting and you are a parent of a 7th grade student who has not attended aprevious meeting, a video has been posted on the WMS website (westbrookschools.org) that you will be required to watch. After watching the video, please call the main office at 854-0830 to speak with Principal Wood regarding the video.

The 8th grade boys’ baseball team moved to 1-1 with an 11-3 win over Lyman Moore on Friday. Chris Kullman, Alec Hodgkins and Zack Davis combined to pitch the 8th graders to victory recording 10 strikeouts between them. Garren Post recorded three hits and reached base 4 times in the win while Reid Garber delivered twice. All 10 spots in the batting order scored a run in this balanced victory. The boys travel to Lincoln on Monday where they’ll look to improve to 2-1.
