Good Morning!  Today is a White Day    


Attention all 8th grade art students:  You can pick up your social issue sculptures and positive word projects in front of the art rooms this week.   Please pick them up by the end of the day today. 


Kindness Spirit Week: Monday, June 4th thru Friday, June 8th is Kindness Spirit Week. Every day we should be kind to our classmates, our teachers, our families, friends, etc. This week is a time to really focus on that! Each day we will have a different theme of kindness. Please participate! The grade with the most participation will win points toward the Falcon Frenzy!  Today:  Peace Love and Kindness- Dress like a hippie – Do something kind of your choice.


Fuel Up to Play 60 will be hosting a 6th grade event on Monday called the Get Up and Get Active Event! Team Acadia and Team Black Bear will compete against each other during Intervention time. Students - please sign up with your homeroom teacher for an event to participate in, and be sure to wear sneakers and your team colors: Acadia is green and Black Bear is yellow! Thursday the 7th grade teams will compete during intervention in the 7th grade show down! Team Dirigo is blue and Team Sebago is yellow, so be sure to wear your team colors and sneakers on Thursday! Any staff helping out are encouraged to wear their Fuel Up t-shirts!


Upcoming Field Trips:  Monday, June 11th - 7th Grade Team Dirigo to Portland Waterfront; Wednesday, June 13th - Leadership Club to Funtown; Friday, June 15th – 7th Grade Team Sebago to Portland Waterfront;Tuesday, June 19th, 6th Grade to Range Pond State Park - Make sure your student turns in their permission slip for their field trips well in advance. Thank you!!


Leadership Club Pot Luck Banquet: Thursday, June 14th, @ 6:00 p.m. in Mr. Moulen’s room.


8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 20, at 6:00 p.m. Letters are being sent home with 8th grade students and emailed home to parents.   Honors assemblies for other grade levels are as follows: 5th Grade: June 19th @ 8:00 a.m.; 6th Grade: June 20th @ 8:00 a.m.; 7th Grade: June 19th @ 10:00 a.m.

Media Use Permission forms were sent home with every student who does not have one on file with us. These forms allow our staff to take pictures of your students and use their names in print for various different recognition purposes and videos. Any student who does NOT have one of these signed permission forms on file will not be allowed to have his or her picture included in any end of the year celebration videos. This includes the 8th grade Promotion video that is shown in the auditorium the night of the promotion ceremony. These videos are uploaded to our social media and are made public for our parents to enjoy. If you are not sure if you have signed one of these forms for your child you may click on the attachment, print, sign it and have your child return it to school. These forms need to be received by the office no later than May 25th.  Media Use Permission Form


Attention all 8th grade students:  Any 8th grader interested in marching band or color guard should come check out our rehearsals at the high school in the band room on June 12th and June 14th from 6-8 p.m. These are open to all 8th grade students. Please see Mrs. Smith if you have questions!


Northern Stars:  Brooke Mowatt, Ben Blue, Giovanni Garcia, Faith DiFazio, Zachary Chau, Sabir Ibrahim, Chloe Lizotte, Yidong Mongue, AJ Rogers, and Faisal Mohamoud. And the winner of this week’s drawing is: Ben Blue! Congratulations to all our Northern Stars!! 




Wiffleball:   Will meet again today after school with Ms. Mawhinney  





Students who will be in grades 6-8 NEXT school year and are interested in playing a sport in the fall should check their emails for an electronic sign-up form.  Please be sure to look at what grades can participate in each sport before you click on your choice.  Reminder that all students must have the required paperwork and proof of a physical BEFORE they will be allowed to participate in any sport.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Foye.  Athletic Participation Forms are available in the main office.
