Good Morning!   


For those who have yet to come to our building during school hours, we now are totally locked down during the school day.  If you need to come in to the building to dismiss your child or drop off an item, you will have to press the button on the column just in front and to the right side of the front doors.  You will then be buzzed in to the foyer to either sign out your child or drop off your item.  If you need to come in to the building for a meeting or event, you will need to sign in and get a visitor badge as usual. 


To sign up for Daily emails and Thursday folders, please  click on the following link:!forum/wmsfolders/join. You'll be prompted to either confirm that you want to use the Google account they are logged in with OR to enter the email address you want to use to subscribe.


Sports News:  From now on, all sports and activities announcements, including game schedules and cancellations, can be found on our new Athletic & Activities tab on our WMS website.  Go to the home page of our web site and click that tab for all sports information. 


Activity Sign Ups will begin today for Bowling Club which will commence on 11/2 and X-Club which will begin in early November as well. Listen for announcements and permission slips will be available in the main office. Bowling Club will be limited to 25 and is only open to 5th & 6th grade students and it fills up fast so get your permission slips signed early!!


In honor of breast cancer awareness month, our staff members will be wearing pink on Wednesdays to show their support for our teachers and our family members who had been affected by breast cancer. Also on Wednesdays, teachers and other staff will be wearing jeans and donating money in support of breast cancer research.


Student Council will meet today after school in Mrs. Boynton’s room!


Student Council will be sponsoring a PINK OUT day this Wednesday. All students should wear pink! Bring $1 and go to the 1st or 3rd floor to get your pink ribbon and pink face paint! Money will go towards breast cancer awareness!


Flu Clinic: Our flu clinic this year will be held on Thursday, October 25th. Here is our form.  Please send it in by the end of the day today!!   Flu Clinic Form


7th Grade Math Team will meet tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. in Mrs. Urban’s classroom.


There is NO Leadership Club meeting this afternoon.  We will meet at our usual time at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday morning in Mr. Moulen's room.


Spirit Week starts Oct. 29th: Monday - Comfy Clothes Day; Tuesday - Twin/Triplet Day; Wednesday - Costume Day; Thursday - Decades Day; Friday - School spirit day: Blue and White


GT ART will be meeting this week during Flex Block. Please bring your sketchbooks! Grades 7 & 8 meet today.  Grades 5 & 6 meet on Thursday.  We will meet in the Art room.


Drama club will be meeting this week today and Thursday from 3 to 4 pm in the PAC. Please wait in the cafeteria for the directors. All students are expected to attend unless otherwise notified. Any drama students who have not yet received email updates, please email Miss Tuck (, include your name and play you're in, so you don't miss out on any important information! If you need help with that email address, come see Ms. Dugas in the office.


Band and Chorus News: Wednesday, October 24th, is the Southern Maine Middle School Honors Band and Chorus auditions from 2:30-6 p.m.


Band News:  On Saturday evening, Westbrook High School is hosting the Maine State Marching Band Finals! Admission to this event is $5 per person. The WMS 7th and 8th grade bands will be performing the National Anthem at 4:45 p.m. and the show will start at 5 p.m. on Olmsted Field. Westbrook High School will be performing at 7:45. 7th and 8th grade students and parents should check their emails for logistics and details.

Builder's Club:  Reminder to Builder Club members, permission slips are due this Friday. Remember to check your emails and see Mrs Boucher with questions.


PAWSitive Club: If you are on the Fall Roster of Pawsitive Club, you will meet this Thursday, October 25 after school in Ms. Trace's room, C120, to walk to the Animal Refuge League. Please be sure to have a ride home at 4 pm or plan to take the late bus.

Challenge Plus Program: Parent Open House will be at the middle school library on Tuesday, October 30th from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.


Halloween Door Decorating Sponsored by our Student Council: Hey party people! It's door decorating time!! Sponsored by our Student Council: This year we have come up with a different "setting" for each floor. Feel free to take your spin on that setting any way you want!


1st floor- haunted carnival

2nd floor- haunted forest

3rd floor- haunted house


There will be a winner chosen for each floor!The doors need to be done and ready by Tuesday October 30th.  If you have any questions- please reach out to Kristin Drottar and I. Thank you!!!


Halloween Dance:  There will be a Halloween Dance sponsored by The WMS PTO on Friday, November 2nd, for Westbrook Middle School 6th-8th graders only.  The dance will run from 6 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Cost will be $5.00, $4.00 for Falcon card holders.  There will be a costume contest, so remember not to pack your costume away after Halloween!


Book Fair: The Book Fair is running from November 8-16th in the library, and November 8-20th online. We'll be open 7:45am - 2:45pm each day, and until 6pm on Parent Conferences (November 8). Please use this link to order on line: Scholastic Book Fair


MLTI Laptop Video:  For those parents who were not able to attend the laptop meeting, please click on the parent resource tab on our home page and click on WMS Laptop Meeting Video.  After watching the video, please call us so that you can check in with Principal Wood regarding the video.
