Good Morning!

To sign up for Daily emails and Thursday folders, please  click on the following link:!forum/wmsfolders/join. You'll be prompted to either confirm that you want to use the Google account they are logged in with OR to enter the email address you want to use to subscribe.


In honor of breast cancer awareness month, our staff members will be wearing pink on Wednesdays to show their support for our teachers and our family members who had been affected by breast cancer. Also on Wednesdays, teachers and other staff will be wearing jeans and donating money in support of breast cancer research.


Sports News:  From now on, all sports and activities announcements, including game schedules and cancellations, can be found on our new Athletic & Activities tab on our WMS website.  Go to the home page of our web site and click that tab for all sports information. 


Bowling Club (which is now full)  will begin this Friday.  Please make sure you bring your $6.00 if you have not paid in advance.  Students will be bussed to West Port Lanes in Westbrook.  Parents will need to pick up promptly at 4:45 p.m. 


 X-Club sign ups continue and will begin on Monday, Nov. 5th.  Permission slips will be available in the main office.


Spirit Week Continues:  starts Today! :  Today - Costume Day; Thursday - Decades Day; Friday - School spirit day: Blue and White


Big Brother's Big Sisters:  Will meet today directly after school in the library


JAZZ BAND Audition music is available in the band room!  Jazz Band is open to all band students in grades 6-8. Please take music and sign up for an audition time with Mrs. Smith.  Auditions will be after school on Monday, or Tuesday, your choice.


Drama: Drama club will be meeting tomorrow from 3 to 4 pm in the PAC (unless another location is announced) Please wait in the cafeteria for the directors.


Leadership Club:  Will meet tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. in Mr. Moulen's room and also on Thursday evening, Nov. 1st, at 6:00 p.m. for parents and students. 


Robotics Club: Will meet tomorrow after school in Mr. Moulen’s room. There will be no Robotics club on Friday this week.

8th Grade Math Team:  Will meet tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. in Ms. Urban's room.


Fuel Up to Play 60 is hosting a dodge ball game tomorrow after school until 4:00. Students must be signed up for the program online in order to attend. All staff are also invited to come and play or watch! Please wear sneakers.and your Fuel Up shirts if you have one. Plan to take the late bus home or arrange for a ride at 4:00.


Civil Rights Club:  Seventh and Eighth graders : The civil rights club will meet tomorrow after school. For the first meeting, please Meet Mr. Ingram in the resource room which is upstairs in the sixth grade hall.


PAWSitive Club:  Will meet tomorrow after school in Ms. Trace’s room.


Builders Club will meet tomorrow after school at 2:45 in Room 208.  Starting November 1st through November 6th Builders club will be collecting Halloween candy to donate to Veterans, Troops and First Responders through Operation Gratitude. Collection buckets will be located in the main office and Mrs Boucher's room, 208.  Thank you.


Halloween Dance:  There will be a Halloween Dance sponsored by The WMS PTO this Friday for Westbrook Middle School 6th-8th graders only.  The dance will run from 6 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for concessions.  Cost will be $5.00, $4.00 for Falcon card holders.  There will be a costume contest, so remember not to pack your costume away after Halloween!


Halloween Doors:  Thank you to everyone who participated in the door decorating contest! We saw some amazing doors!


The winners are:

1st floor- Mrs. Beckwith

2nd floor- Ms. Kling

3rd floor- Ms. Lloyd (7th grade) and Mrs. Curcio (8th grade)

Book Fair: The Book Fair is running from November 8-16th in the library, and November 8-20th online. We'll be open 7:45am - 2:45pm each day, and until 6pm on Parent Conferences (November 8). Please use this link to order on line: Scholastic Book Fair


WMS Skate Night: Sponsored by our PTO will be on Friday, November 9th - 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Happy Wheels in Portland (on Warren Ave.) - Cost is $6.50 at the door ($2 more for in-line skates). This is open to WMS students in grades 5-8.

MLTI Laptop Video:  For those parents who were not able to attend the laptop meeting, please click on the parent resource tab on our home page and click on WMS Laptop Meeting Video.  After watching the video, please call us so that you can check in with Principal Wood regarding the video.
