Good Morning!   Today is a Blue Day!

Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences: Our spring conferences are scheduled for Thursday, April 4th from 11 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., and again on Thursday, April 25th, from 3:00 p.m - 6:00 p.m. Our teachers primarily use spring conferences as a way to connect with families of students that they feel would benefit from a conference at this time of year. Letters were mailed home to priority students at the beginning of March. If you did not receive a letter, but would still like to meet with your child's team of teachers, please click here to schedule your child's conference.


emPowerME Assessment Testing: Testing was completed for 5th and 6th grades last week with 8th grade beginning this week, and 7th grade starting next week on April 1st. Please make sure your student gets plenty of rest and a healthy breakfast to prepare for testing.


Spring Pictures:  Spring pictures are tomorrow!  All students will have their pictures taken, and will receive a packet of pictures.  Parents can then keep and pay for the pictures they want, and the rest need to be returned to school.


Drama Club:  Is cancelled for today, but will meet again next Tuesday.


GT Art:   5th & 6th grade GT Art will meet this week during flex block in the cafeteria.   Please bring your sketchbooks.


PAWSitive Club:  Will meet today after school with Ms. Trace.  This is the last meeting for the Winter Session.


Robotics Club:  Will meet today after school with Mr. Moulen 


Mine Craft:  Will meet tomorrow after school with Mr. Moulen 


Fuel Up to play 60 will host a dodge ball tournament after school tomorrow at 2:45. All students who have made a fuel up to play 60 account online are welcome to come and play! All staff is welcome to join in on the fun as well!

Student Council Penny Drive:  Hey everyone!! It's that time of year for the Penny Drive! March 18th- April 5th If you are new to the school, the Penny Drive is a 3 week fundraiser where homerooms collect money that will go to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society to help children and adults with blood cancers. It's called a "Penny" drive but kids are encouraged to bring any type of change or cash in to donate. The homeroom that donates the most money in the school will receive a special lunch brought to us by Olive Garden! It's always awesome!


Library News:  The library has a raffle going on to give away 50 Lincoln Peirce books.  Look on Google Classroom for the entry form.  Also Lincoln Peirce books are on sale in the library until March 29th!  We have three titles:  Max and the Midknights ($12), Big Nate Payback Time ($9) and Big Nate In a Class By Himself ($7).  The library can accept cash or checks.


Lincoln Peirce, author of Big Nate, is speaking to WMS on April 2!  All 5th-8th grade students will be attending this awesome event!  Mr. Peirce (pronounced “purse”) will be signing books at the end of his talk.  One book per student, please.  Print: A Bookstore in Portland is offering 20% off the cover price @  Other great local options for purchasing a book:  Books-a-Million, Nonesuch Books, And Goodwill might have paperbacks - could be worth the hunt!  Please contact Suzanne Dix with any questions!

Band and Chorus Info: 


Band and Chorus Students if you are in need of concert clothes for upcoming concerts, Please see Mrs Boucher in room 208. She may be able to assist.


5th Grade Band: Beginning the week of 3/25, band students will have sectionals, instead of full band, on the following days: Trombone/Flute (MONDAY); Clarinet/Saxophone (WEDNESDAY); Trumpet/Percussion (FRIDAY) **Please maintain your music class day for the rest of the year! Beckwith/Larose (MONDAYS), Fortin/Mawhinney (TUESDAYS), Bradbury/Freund (THURSDAYS), Pecoraro/Trace (FRIDAYS


Attention 7th and 8th grade Band Students:  The concert band festival schedule has been set!  


8th Grade: The 8th Grade Concert Band will be attending the MBDA Concert Band Festival at Scarborough High School on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3rd.  The performance time is 1:30 p.m. and doors will be closed to the performance area 5 minutes before the performance time.  


7th Grade: The 7th Grade Concert Band will be performing on THURSDAY, APRIL 4th.  The performance time is 12:00 p.m. and doors will closed 5 minutes before performance time.  Performance to this festival is a required part of the class.  Please be on the lookout for some more important details in an email from Mrs. Smith.  


MLTI Laptop Video:  For those parents who were not able to attend the laptop meeting, please click on the parent resource tab on our home page and click on WMS Laptop Meeting Video.  After watching the video, please call us so that you can check in with Principal Wood regarding the video.
