Governor Janet Mills directed that the United States and State of Maine flags be flown at half-staff statewide immediately through sunset Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in honor of the Farmington firefighter who lost his life and those who were injured following the explosion at the Life Enrichment Advancing People or "LEAP" facility in Farmington, Maine.

Library News: Thursday, 9/19: Library Closed for all interventions for summer reading celebrations
Leadership Club: Will meet tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. We also have a parent/student meeting scheduled for Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m in Mr. Moulen's room. This is to discuss trip plans for this year, and to let parents know about upcoming fundraisers.
Drama Club will have its first informational meeting on Tuesday, September 24th, at 3:00 pm in the First Floor Common Area. All are welcome.
Pawsitive Club is starting up this week. There will be an informational meeting this Friday at 3 PM, location to be determined so stay tuned for an update. If animals are your thing, then we hope to see you there! If you have any questions talk to Ms. Nash in room 203 or Ms. Harnik in room 313. All grades are welcome!
Kaleidoscope Club: will have an informational meeting on Tuesday, September 24 after school in Room 316. Any interested seventh and eighth graders are welcome to attend. If you cannot attend but are interested in joining Kaleidoscope Club, please check in with Mrs. Slote or Mr. Allshouse sometime this week.
5th Grade Band UPDATE: Here is the schedule for this week and for the school year when students will need instruments. (**If you requested an instrument in the spring due to financial need, please see Mr. Rich or Mrs. Smith when you arrive.)
MONDAY: All grade 5 percussion (please bring only your stick bag with a pair of mallets and drum sticks) and flute players will need their instruments, and anyone in Mrs. Beckwith or Ms. Larose’s classes.
TUESDAY: Anyone in Mrs. Lowell or Miss Raymond’s classes
WEDNESDAY: All grade 5 clarinet and saxophone players will need their instruments, and anyone in Mrs. Bradbury or Mrs. Freund’s classes.
THURSDAY: Anyone in Ms. James or Mr. Pecoraro’s classes
FRIDAY: All grade 5 trumpet and trombone players as well as any student in Ms. Trace’s class.

Band students grades 6-8 SmartMusic subscription update: The format for getting your SmartMusic subscriptions has changed. Please have your child bring in $8 cash or $8 check made out to Westbrook Music Boosters to Mrs. Smith as soon as possible. We will be loading up all subscriptions for SmartMusic and will be sending directions shortly for you to connect at home! Assignments will begin the week of September 16th. If anyone has financial need, please contact Mrs. Smith at email@example.com.

All athletes will be able to stay after school to wait for their practice. Remember, there is no late bus today, so if you do not have transportation, please go home on your regular bus.
Planned Absence Form: Students that are traveling for 3 or more days outside school vacation times need to fill out a Planned Absence form. This gives teachers, the attendance secretary and administrators notice that that child will be away and also let them know about how they will make up work. Please click here for a form.

Late Bus: Late bus is available to students Mon-Tues-Thurs & Friday and leaves WMS at approximately 4:05. Students have to have a late bus pass from a staff member, or coach to ride the late bus.
