Drama Club will have its first informational meeting today at 3:00 pm in the First Floor Common Area. All are welcome.
Kaleidoscope Club: will have an informational meeting today after school in Room 316. Any interested seventh and eighth graders are welcome to attend. If you cannot attend but are interested in joining Kaleidoscope Club, please check in with Mrs. Slote or Mr. Allshouse sometime this week.
Fuel Up News: Any students interested in participating in Fuel Up to Play 60 this year are welcome to attend a meeting tomorrow morning at 7:20 in the gym. Please bring your laptops!
Pawsitive Club: Permission slips for the Pawsitive Club are due tomorrow. If you missed the informational meeting, additional permission slips can be found in the Office. Please turn in completed forms to Ms. Nash in room 203.

Yankee Candle Fundraiser: The PTO sponsored Yankee Candle Fundraiser starts today. Students should bring packets home today. Please note that the deadline is incorrect on the flyers. The fundraiser due date is October 4th.
Library News: 5th and 6th Graders will be meeting author Jennifer Nielsen on September 30th during Flex! Autographed copies of her books are available for purchase (check the library or Google Classroom).
Falcon's Nest: Falcon's Nest is up and running for the second year!! The Falcon's Nest is able to offer snacks/ food, clothing, shoes, school supplies and toiletries to students. Community support is appreciated to keep the shelves full. Snacks (no nut items), school supplies and toiletries are welcomed anytime and can be dropped off in the main office. For clothing donations, our space is limited and needs vary from season to season, please contact Amie Boucher at firstname.lastname@example.org prior to clothing donations. Thank You!!!
Band announcement **NEW** (Grades 5-8): SmartMusic enroll codes have been emailed to you. Please follow the directions to set up your account. Every student will need to set one up, using this new procedure (it is different than SmartMusic last year). You will need to choose one email address per account (grade 5 students- do not use school email accounts.) Please pass in your $8 cash or check made out to Westbrook Music Boosters, or send in a note if you need financial assistance.
5th Grade Band UPDATE: Here is the schedule for this week and for the school year when students will need instruments. (**If you requested an instrument in the spring due to financial need, please see Mr. Rich or Mrs. Smith when you arrive.)
MONDAY: All grade 5 percussion (please bring only your stick bag with a pair of mallets and drum sticks) and flute players will need their instruments, and anyone in Mrs. Beckwith or Ms. Larose’s classes.
TUESDAY: Anyone in Mrs. Lowell or Miss Raymond’s classes
WEDNESDAY: All grade 5 clarinet and saxophone players will need their instruments, and anyone in Mrs. Bradbury or Mrs. Freund’s classes.
THURSDAY: Anyone in Ms. James or Mr. Pecoraro’s classes
FRIDAY: All grade 5 trumpet and trombone players as well as any student in Ms. Trace’s class.

Planned Absence Form: Students that are traveling for 3 or more days outside school vacation times need to fill out a Planned Absence form. This gives teachers, the attendance secretary and administrators notice that that child will be away and also let them know about how they will make up work. Please click here for a form.

Late Bus: Late bus is available to students Mon-Tues-Thurs & Friday and leaves WMS at approximately 4:05. Students have to have a late bus pass from a staff member, or coach to ride the late bus.
