Good Morning!! Today is a White Day
A reminder that this Friday is a Teacher Workshop Day for teachers, no school for students. Monday is also no school in observance of Indigenous People's Day.
Team Dirigo: Team Dirigo's field trip today has been cancelled and be rescheduled.

Drama: Will meet today and Thursday after school in the PAC.
Builder's Club will be meeting in Mrs Bouchers Room this Thursday, October 10th.
Student Council: Student council will meet this Thursday in Ms. Klings room on the third floor in C314! COME JOIN AND BRING FRIENDS !
Attention 5th grade Mathletes! 5th grade math team will meet on Tuesday, October 15th in Mrs. Bradbury’s room from 2:45-3:45 C114. If you missed the information meeting and have more questions, please stop by to see Mrs. Bradbury.
Math Team: 6-8th grade students that cannot make the morning meeting can stay after school on this afternoon with Ms. Urban. 8th Grade will meet on tomorrow morning, and 6th grade will meet on Thursday morning.
Kaleidoscope Club is cancelled for today. All interested 7th and 8th graders are welcome to attend our next meeting on Tuesday, October 15th, in Mr. Allshouse’s room, allies and LGBTQ+ students alike. We provide a safe space to meet, support each other, and talk about issues involving equality and acceptance.
October 16th is National World Food Day!!!! The focus of World Food Day is to tackle world hunger!!! To honor the day, the Flex Community Service Group is conducting a schoolwide Food Drive to support the Falcon's Nest. Food can be dropped off in the Main office, the library and Student Success Center. Library News: 5th and 6th graders were wowed by best-selling author Jennifer A Nielsen last week. She told students that Words have Power and definitely inspired them! All our library copies of her books are completely checked out with long hold lists...we are so thrilled that she excited our readers at WMS!

Our Scholastic Book Fair in the Middle School Library is only a month away! We hope to see you at Parent Conferences on November 7th! More details to follow, such as Scholastic's new eWallet which will allow you to set up a spending account for your child(ren). We hope to make this our best Book Fair yet! (November 6-14)
Band News: Attention all 5-8 band students: All students should be logged into SmartMusic to receive weekly assignments. Please log into your SmartMusic account to check for updates. Please email Mrs. Smith if you need your class code or instructions for completing an assignment.
HONORS BAND GRADES 7 & 8- please sign up for an audition spot on Mrs. Smith’s door by Thursday, October 10th. If you need help with your audition, please come to the band room at 7:20 a.m. any morning!

Falcon's Nest: Falcon's Nest is up and running for the second year!! The Falcon's Nest is able to offer snacks/ food, clothing, shoes, school supplies and toiletries to students. Community support is appreciated to keep the shelves full. Snacks (no nut items), school supplies and toiletries are welcomed anytime and can be dropped off in the main office. For clothing donations, our space is limited and needs vary from season to season, please contact Amie Boucher at firstname.lastname@example.org prior to clothing donations. Thank You!!!
Planned Absence Form: Students that are traveling for 3 or more days outside school vacation times need to fill out a Planned Absence form. This gives teachers, the attendance secretary and administrators notice that that child will be away and also let them know about how they will make up work. Please click here for a form.

Late Bus: Late bus is available to students Mon-Tues-Thurs & Friday and leaves WMS at approximately 4:05. Students have to have a late bus pass from a staff member, or coach to ride the late bus.
