Good Morning! Today is Monday, December 16th.   It is a White Day 

 

 

Laptops:  No laptops will be allowed to go home over Christmas break.  If students are out ill, laptops must be dropped off at school by Friday, December 20th!

 

Jazz Band:  There is no jazz band tomorrow morning, but we will have jazz band tomorrow afternoon.

 

The Leadership Club will be selling candy canes all this week before school and during recess.  Cost will be $1.00 per cane, purchase for yourself or gift a friend. Spread some holiday cheer!  They will also meet today after school with Mr. Moulen.

 

5th Grade Math Games Club:  Is cancelled for today.

 

Kaleidoscope Club will meet today after school in Mr. Allshouse's room.  They will have their yearbook picture taken tomorrow morning directly after announcements in the third floor common area.

 

Drama Club:  Will meet tomorrow after school in the PAC. 

 

PAWSitive Club: The first meeting for the winter session will be this Friday after school in Ms. Nash’s room. If you’re not sure which session you are in please check the list in the first floor common area or outside of Ms. Nash’s room.

 

Bowling Club will have their yearbook picture taken this Wednesday, December 18th, directly after announcements in the first floor common area. The next Bowling day is after the winter break on Friday, January 3rd.

 

Congratulations to the following 6th grade band students for their acceptance to the Southern Maine 6th Grade Honors Band! Sofia Kirtchev, Avery Campbell, Sadie Collins, Cameron Abbe, Geneveve Storey, Nathan Edwards, Elspeth Migliore, Solstice Barnes, Andrew Busque, Baxter Carroll.

 

5th Grade Band News:  The 5th grade band students will have three full band practices to prepare for our upcoming concert on December 16th.  Students will need to have their instruments here on Monday, Dec 2nd, Monday, Dec. 9th, and Monday, Dec 16th.  PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS and help students remember their instruments!!  

 

WMS Band and Chorus students:  We have a concert dress code that we would like everyone to follow.  If you have financial need, please see Mrs. Boucher at the Falcon’s Nest and she can help!  Email her at bouchera@westbrookschools.org or you can email Mrs. Smith (smithkr@westbrookschools.org) or Mrs. Andrade (andradel@westbrookschools.org) and we will help.  Our dress code is:  white tops, black bottoms, boys can wear any color tie, and girls must have legs and shoulders entirely covered. 

 

Grade 5 Winter Concert:  Tonight at 7:00 p.m. Chorus students need to arrive at 6:30 p.m.  Band students need to arrive at 6:45 p.m. 

 

Falcon's Nest Fundraiser:  Good morning!  I am excited about a fundraiser event for the Falcon's Nest...... a Maine Mariners Game on Saturday January 4th at 6p.m.  A portion of the tickets purchased through the link in the flyer will go to the Falcon's Nest!!! I am working with both Lisa Andrade and Sue Proulx to have our own Westbrook students singing the National Anthem and a local girl scout troop to present the American Flag. Plus Westbrook students in attendance may have an opportunity to be a part of the high five tunnel with players.Click here for more information:  Flyer

 

WMS Yearbooks: are now on sale. Please order online from LifeTouch using code: 11037520. Soft cover yearbooks cost $18. You can choose a hardcover upgrade for an additional $6. Adding your name on the front will cost an additional $5.  Flyers have been sent home electronically, but if you want a paper copy, please come down to the office to pick one up.

 

Planned Absence Form:  Students that are traveling for 3 or more days outside school vacation times need to fill out a Planned Absence form.  This gives teachers, the attendance secretary and administrator’s notice that that child will be away and also let them know about how they will make up work.  Please click here for a form and give it to your student if they inform you that they will be traveling.  Thank you!

Late Bus:  Late bus is available to students Mon-Tues-Thurs & Friday and leaves WMS at approximately 4:05.  Students have to have a late bus pass from a staff member, or coach to ride the late bus.
