Today is an in-school day for all Group B students. Group A students should check their google classrooms for assignments. All students work remotely on Friday. They can email their teachers at any time. All school department staff are emails are last name, first initial @westbrookschools.org.

FALL SPORTS: We will be running a modified fall sports schedule starting Wednesday, October 28 for Group B students and Monday, November 2 for Group A students. Running club (XC), boys and girls soccer and field hockey will meet after school and practice from 2:45 to 3:50. In order to attend, each student must fill out the Daily Covid19 Questionnaire EVERY DAY BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE FIELD. Forms and additional information are available on the Westbrook Middle School athletic website. There will be no games. This is simply an opportunity to practice sport skills and get some outdoor exercise before winter arrives.

Civil Rights Team: Civil Rights Team (CRT): All students are welcomed to join the Civil Rights Team. Grades 5 & 6 students will be meeting every other Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. The next meeting will be Wednesday, November 4th. Grades 7 & 8 students will be meeting every other Thursday from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. The next meeting will be this Thursday, October 29th. NWEA Testing: Testing continues today for our Group B students. roup B students will begin on Wednesday.
Picture Day! We will have two picture days this year to accommodate A & B students. The first day will be Monday, November 2nd for A students, and the second day will be Thursday, November 19th, for B students. All students will have their picture taken. Remote students can come in from 8:15 - 9:15 a.m. on either picture day. Parents should go to mylifetouch.com to order pictures online up to, during, and then up to 24 hours after picture day. The picture day ID is: evtjxj3k4. If you want to wait to see the picture before ordering, students will receive a proof packet approximately 2 weeks after picture day. They can then bring that packet home. There will be a new picture ID number on the packet for your to order pictures.
Parent Portal: If you have not already done so, please set up your Parent Portal in Infinite Campus in order to update your child’s information. This includes naming people for us to call in case of an emergency if you are unavailable. This is especially important now if we have to send a student home because of COVID symptoms. Thursday Folders have resumed! Our schools send electronic notices and information about our schools and community every Thursday. Please look for them in your inbox. For example, Middle and High School families will find a notice about an upcoming virtual workshop today that is sponsored by our partners at The Opportunity Alliance entitled "Parenting Teens in a Pandemic". Thursday Folders are a great way to stay informed!
Free Meals: We continue to distribute bulk meals for Distance Learning days on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30 to 10am. A Westbrook School Department van will be at Walker Field (near the basketball court,) Westbrook Pointe (at the bus stop), and in the municipal parking lot on William Clarke Drive next to Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church. We hope you will stop by for meals. Meals for our Remote by Choice students will be distributed at Westbrook Middle School on Mondays, 1-2pm.

Face coverings must be worn at all times inside the schools and on the bus, unless an employee has provided a student with a momentary break while the student is at least six feet from any other individual, during meal times when proper distancing must be maintained, or in other limited situations. Face coverings are not optional; wearing one is required. Masks are available here at school if your child forgets one.
