Good Morning!

This week is a remote school week. Please follow the red remote week schedule.

Today starts the new Semester 2 UA classes. UA classes will follow the WMS red remote week schedule. However, given that the classes are all brand new, UA teachers will only be meeting with A day students on Monday and Tuesday and only B day students on Wednesday and Thursday. Students from both A and B cohort groups will have a combined meeting with their UA teachers on Friday.

Please note, band classes will follow their usual schedule. Their classes will meet at the times outlined in the WMS red week schedule. Chorus will also run as usual on Friday.

Today is the first ,day of the semester/2nd quarter. Parents whose student's are changing their schedule and have not been contacted should contact transportation directly for their student's bus information. The number for Transportation is 854-0807 or email Melissa Foye at

Dear 5th grade families: Beginning band registration starts next Monday, February 1st, and continues through Friday, February 12th. Any questions can be sent to Mrs. Smith ahead of time via email at Please be on the lookout for this registration form from Principal Wood starting on Monday!

Pick up Artwork from cases on 1st Floor:

If you are in 6th or 8th grade currently and made clay masks or robots last year in Art, pick up your artwork in the show cases this week! They must be picked up by the end of next week, Feb 12th. Bags are hanging next to each set of cases (if there are no bags left, come to the art room and ask for more!).

Kaleidoscope Club: This club is for LGBTQ+ students and Allies to come together in a safe space to discuss issues and support each other. Grades 6-8th are welcome. We will hold our first virtual meeting on Thursday, February 4th, from 3pm-3:45. Google meet join code is: kclub. We will continue to meet every other Thursday for the rest of the year. Leadership Club: Will be meeting virtually on Wednesday, February 3rd. The Google classroom code is 4t6766s and the Google Meet link is in the banner.

Keyboard Covers: The Leadership Club will continue accepting pre-orders for keyboard covers that are selling for just $5 next week. Click HERE or on the link below to fill out a pre-order form. Examples of the covers can be seen on the poster in front of the lobby tree.

NOTE: We cannot order your cover until you pay. You can pay for the orders during lunch or recess at the top of the lobby stairs outside of the STEAM room. EXACT Change only or checks made out to Westbrook Middle School for $5. Please allow 2 weeks for delivery.

Robotics Team: We will be meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoons in-person from 2:30-4pm and virtually from 3:30-4pm. Use the Google Meet class code bcvdp6o to join the class and access the Google Meet link in the banner. Remember, there is no late bus available at this time, so you must make your own arrangements.

Builders’ Club is holding an Aluminum Can Tab Drive from to support the Ronald McDonald House! So be sure to drop off all your aluminum tabs before February 28th! Drop off locations are the main office, outside Mrs.Boucher room (C208) and outside of Mrs.Kling's room (C314).thank you!


Student Council and Builders Club is sponsoring a food drive for the Falcons Nest January 25 - January 28th!! Food can be dropped off at one of three locations: Main Office, Ms. Kling’s room (C314) or Mrs. Boucher’s room (C208).

Please refer to the suggested food list: Individualized size servings of granola bars, cereal bars, mini cereal boxes, breakfast bars, popcorn, pretzels, goldfish, fruit cups, applesauce, cans of tuna or chicken, macaroni and cheese, soups, ramen/cup noodle.

Parent Portal: If you have not already done so, please set up your Parent Portal in Infinite Campus in order to update your child’s information. This includes naming people for us to call in case of an emergency if you are unavailable. This is especially important now if we have to send a student home because of COVID symptoms. Thursday Folders have resumed! Our schools send electronic notices and information about our schools and community every Thursday. Please look for them in your inbox. For example, Middle and High School families will find a notice about an upcoming virtual workshop today that is sponsored by our partners at The Opportunity Alliance entitled "Parenting Teens in a Pandemic". Thursday Folders are a great way to stay informed!

Free Meals: We continue to distribute bulk meals for Distance Learning days on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30 to 10am. A Westbrook School Department van will be at Walker Field (near the basketball court,) Westbrook Pointe (at the bus stop), and in the municipal parking lot on William Clarke Drive next to Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church. We hope you will stop by for meals. Meals for our Remote by Choice students will be distributed at Westbrook Middle School on Mondays, 1-2pm.

Face coverings must be worn at all times inside the schools and on the bus, unless an employee has provided a student with a momentary break while the student is at least six feet from any other individual, during meal times when proper distancing must be maintained, or in other limited situations. Face coverings are not optional; wearing one is required. Masks are available here at school if your child forgets one.
